Luxury Yorkshire Weddings: Jo and Mike’s Grantley Hall, Winter wedding.

Hello all! As I write, it’s the middle of wedding season and we are hard at it creating beautiful wedding flowers for all our luxury Yorkshire weddings (and further afield too!) As we’ve had a flurry of enquiries for Winter weddings, I thought now was a good time to share Jo and Mike’s absolutely stunning wedding at Grantley Hall, as part of our ‘real wedding’ features. Our journal not only provides you with heaps of inspiration for your own wedding flowers, but we just adore recounting stories of our gorgeous couples and how we play a part in their big day.

Christ Church High Harrogate

Jo & Mike chose to be married at Christ Church, High Harrogate, a church with a wonderful history that still retains much of its super stylish Arts & Crafts renovations.

Filled with wooden pews and pannelling, together with my team, I created soft, delicate florals to line the aisle.

Winter wedding flowers

Using a soft colour palette of white and blush pink, I designed winter wedding flowers using the most opulent and luxurious of flowers including fair trade roses in different shades, white winter hellebores, white lilac, white lisianthus and gorgeous sumptuous white phalaenopsis orchids.

To really showcase the beautiful blooms, all the bouquets, aisle flowers, table flowers and hanging designs were created without any foliage, the only exception being the gigantic arch installation.

Church Ceremony Flowers

For this luxury Yorkshire wedding, my team created aisle meadows along either side of the aisle to welcome guests and create a truly gasp-worthy moment as the bride walked down the aisle with her father. Every design was then repurposed at Grantley Hall, framing the stage, and lining the walkway and entrance to the Grantley Suite where the wedding breakfast was held.

The standout statement piece for the church ceremony flowers was a pair of colossal pillars designed to form a broken arch and frame the couple as they said their vows. Both pillars were moved following the ceremony then re-sited and repurposed at Grantley Hall.

A bride wearing white with a large luxury bouquet is escorted down the aisle by her father, either side of them are white floral arrangements stretching the entire length of the aisle. The guests look-on smiling.

Seasonal wedding flowers

In terms of seasonal wedding flowers, availability in January can be tricky so we focused on getting the absolute top quality blooms from our tried and tested connections, who import from warmer climates at this time of the year. We also sourced the foliage for the large scale designs from our Yorkshire and Cornwall flower farmers and managed to showcase gorgeous eco-friendly, sweet-smelling eucalyptus along with other foliage too.

A bride and groom exit the church and are surrounded by guests who are showering them with a flurry of confetti, they are both facing the camera and have beaming smiles. The wind is blowing the brides veil as she holds her large white bouquet up.

What Jo had to say…

Dear Tracey

I hope that you and your team are well? I just wanted to email to say - THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Rosie recommended you to us in the first instance and as always, she was right and you did not disappoint.

We have just returned home from our honeymoon (yesterday) and we have been greeted with messages and feedback from our guests about the wedding. Words used to describe the flowers included ‘breathtaking’, ‘stunning’, and ‘magnificent’.

… they are incredible - the photographer has really done your arrangements proud.

With love

Jo xx
