Sheffield Wedding Flowers … or Love in the time of Covid

Welcome one and all to the new Campbell’s Flowers website. I’m super excited that my first blog post is full of joy and inspiration and is especially for those who are getting to grips with planning Sheffield wedding flowers during restrictions. So sit back and enjoy this heart-warming, Covid-friendly Sheffield wedding, packed full of seasonal, locally grown flowers and lots and lots of love.

Helen and Dan married at the Mother of God Church on Abbeydale Road with all their guests at a safe distance. They then travelled in a vintage VW Beetle to have their beautiful photographs taken at the historic Abbeydale Picture House which, as their reception venue, they are now saving for the mother of all post-Covid parties, and instead had a small, socially distanced reception at Helen’s family home on their actual wedding day.

As you can see from the glorious shots by Tim Dunk, the whole day was a joyous affair, full of love, family, and super close friends. Oh, and a lot of children too! During all our various chats about her Sheffield wedding flowers, Helen and I talked about a statement bridal bouquet that reflected the seasons, to complement the silhouette of her stunning Kate Beaumont gown and veil. So I sourced natural, Yorkshire-grown blooms locally, introducing lots of grasses and texture, to accentuate her colour palette of apricot, salmon, and sand. I suggested a tiny pop of bright orange, to just lift everything too, which worked perfectly. The eagle-eyed amongst you might have spotted much-loved Cafe au Lait Dahlias nestling within the designs too -absolutely perfect for the colour palette and bang on trend too.

I think Helen’s face when I’m delivering her flowers, pretty much says it all! (it’s my absolute favourite thing to do in the world!). All the bridesmaids had pretty posies to carry, with the page boys all wearing a miniature version of the groom and groomsmens’ buttonholes.

I hope you all love this beautiful Sheffield wedding and its given you some ideas of how you can have a fab day within the guidelines - if you need styling tips for Sheffield Wedding Flowers then do get in touch, I’m super happy to help. I can’t wait to design for Helen & Dan’s party at their gorgeous, historic venue, it’s going to be fun!

Although greatly reduced, 2020 weddings did go ahead and whether mini, micro, or macro (well 30 people!) I was beyond thrilled to play a part in designing wedding flowers for all of them - I got to create floral designs in Derbyshire as well as Sheffield and the surrounding areas and even styled a beautiful, rustic tipi in a field in Pontefract too and can’t wait to bring you more flowery goodness in the shape of Sheffield wedding flowers very soon.

Thanks so much for reading
